Acne is an inflammatory disease of the pilosebaceous follicles that affects areas rich in sebaceous glands, such as the face and trunk. The designation and detailed characterization of acne are divided into the following categories: Grade I (Comedonic): Exclusive presence of blackheads and whiteheads. No inflamed lesions (pimples) are present. Grade II (Papulopustular): Blackheads combined with small, inflamed pimples and yellow pus-filled spots. Grade III (Nodulocystic): In addition to blackheads and pimples, larger, deep, reddish, and painful lesions appear (nodules and cysts). Grade IV (Conglobata): The most severe form, characterized by large, interconnected cystic lesions, which can form abscesses and leave deep scars.
